Sharing & mobile
How sharing permissions work on a brainstorm, and what the mobile read-only view looks like.
A brainstorm is a document under the hood, so it shares the same permissions model as everything else in Your Content. You invite teammates, set per-person access, and they see the canvas in real time.
Sharing levels
Open the share dialog from the canvas (or from the library card menu). Three access levels apply:
| Level | What they can do |
|---|---|
| View | See notes, annotations, connections, syntheses. Can't add or edit anything. |
| Comment | Same as view, plus add their own notes. Can't edit or delete others' notes. |
| Edit | Full access — add, edit, delete others' notes, solidify or dismiss syntheses, change views. |
Solidify and Dismiss work for comment and above. View-only collaborators see the candidate card but can't act on it.
Real-time updates
Everyone with access sees notes appear, classify, and connect in real time. This makes brainstorms great for live workshops — one person facilitates, everyone else dumps notes, and the canvas reorganizes around the conversation.
Public links
The share dialog supports public access (read-only) for people outside your workspace. Toggle it on and copy the share link. Anyone with the link can view the brainstorm; they can't add or edit anything.
Mobile
The mobile experience is read-only by design in v1.0. On a screen below 768px wide, the canvas renders as a list:
- Notes are grouped by type
- Synthesis candidates are pinned at the top
- Solidify and Dismiss still work
- The composer, view switcher, and full canvas chrome are hidden
This is intentional — the spatial canvas needs a mouse and a real screen to work well. If you need to drop a note from mobile, capture it with Voice Capture instead and import it later.
Brainstorm + spatial canvas on mobile is on the roadmap but not in v1.0.
Cascade delete
Deleting a brainstorm document removes:
- The brainstorm itself
- Every note on it
- Every connection between notes
- Every synthesis candidate (solidified or pending)
This is permanent. The Delete dialog warns you about the note count before you confirm.
Search and /your-content
Brainstorms appear in:
/your-contentwith a Brain icon and a sage tint, alongside notes and other documents/search— note text and annotations are indexed, so any phrase you wrote on a note is searchable globally
Clicking a brainstorm in either place routes you to /brainstorm/<id>, not to a regular document editor.
