Adding Documents

How to upload documents to your knowledge base so the AI can search through them.

Getting documents into your knowledge base is straightforward. Upload your files, and Opisense processes them automatically so the AI can search and reference them in conversations.

Uploading documents

Open the knowledge base

Navigate to Knowledge Base in the sidebar. You'll see your document library with any files you've already uploaded.

Upload your files

Click the Upload button, or drag and drop files directly into the page. You can upload one file at a time or select multiple files for a bulk upload.

Wait for processing

Opisense reads and indexes each document automatically. You'll see a processing status next to each file. Once it's done, the document is searchable by the AI.

Supported formats

Opisense supports the most common document formats:

  • PDF — Reports, contracts, manuals, presentations saved as PDF
  • Word documents.doc and .docx files
  • Text files.txt and plain text content
  • Markdown.md files for technical documentation

Processing time depends on the size and complexity of your document. Most files are ready within a few seconds, but larger documents may take a minute or two.

Bulk uploads

If you have a lot of documents to add at once, you can select multiple files in the upload dialog. Opisense queues them up and processes each one in order. You can keep working while uploads run in the background.

Organizing your documents

You don't need to create folders or tag your files. The AI understands the content itself, so it finds relevant information regardless of file names or organization. That said, using clear, descriptive file names makes it easier for you to browse your document list later.

Replacing or removing documents

If you upload an updated version of a document, you can remove the old one and upload the new version. The AI re-indexes the content automatically. To delete a document, find it in your library and use the delete option — the AI will no longer reference it in future searches.
