Managing Skills
Enable, disable, edit, copy, and assign skills to keep your AI working exactly the way you need.
Once you've got skills in your library, you'll want to manage them as your needs evolve. Here's how to handle the day-to-day of keeping your skills organized and effective.
You can manage skills through chat too. Ask your assistant things like "Disable the Bug Report skill", "Assign the Meeting Notes skill to my Support Agent", or "Copy the Sales Email skill and rename it to Outreach Email."
Enabling and disabling skills
You can turn skills on or off without deleting them. This is useful when you want to temporarily stop using a skill or test how your AI behaves without it.
- Enable — The skill is active and available for the AI to use
- Disable — The skill stays in your library but the AI won't use it
To toggle a skill, open it from the skills library and use the enable/disable switch. The change takes effect immediately.
Editing skills
Click on any skill to open its details, then make your changes. You can update the name, description, instructions, or scope. Changes are saved and take effect right away — the AI uses the updated version on its next interaction.
If you're making a big change to a skill, consider copying it first. That way you have a backup of the working version in case the changes don't work as expected.
Copying skills
Want to create a variation of an existing skill? Use the Copy action to duplicate it. This creates a new skill with the same name (appended with "Copy"), description, and instructions. You can then modify the copy without affecting the original.
Copying is especially useful when you want to create agent-specific versions of an organization-wide skill with slightly different instructions.
Deleting skills
If you no longer need a skill, you can delete it from the library. Deleting is permanent — the skill and its instructions are removed entirely. Any agent that was using the skill will no longer have access to it.
Before deleting, check if any agents rely on the skill. You can see which agents are assigned to a skill from the skill's detail page.
Assigning skills to agents
Skills become most powerful when attached to the right agent. To assign a skill to an agent:
- Open the skill you want to assign
- Use the Assign to Agent option
- Select the agent from the list
You can also assign skills from the agent's settings page. Navigate to the agent, open its configuration, and add skills from the available list. The agent can use the skill immediately after assignment.
