Creating Projects
Set up new projects with names, descriptions, and identifiers — then find them fast with search and view options.
Getting a project started takes about 30 seconds. You'll give it a name, add some context, and choose an identifier. From there, you can start adding documents and inviting collaborators.
Create a new project
Open the project creation form
Navigate to Projects in the sidebar and click New Project. A form appears where you'll fill in the basics.
Choose a name
Pick something clear and recognizable. Your team will see this name in the sidebar and search results, so make it descriptive. "Q2 Marketing Campaign" works better than "Project 7."
Add a description
Write a sentence or two about what this project is for. This helps team members understand the project's purpose at a glance, and it gives your AI assistant useful context when answering questions about the project.
Set an identifier
The identifier is a short code — usually 2-4 uppercase letters — that acts as a quick reference. For example, "MKT" for marketing or "ENG" for engineering. Opisense suggests one based on your project name, but you can change it.
Identifiers must be unique within your workspace. If the one you want is already taken, try adding a number or using a different abbreviation.
Save the project
Click Create and you're done. Your new project appears in the project list, ready for documents and collaboration.
Finding your projects
As your workspace grows, you'll want to find projects quickly. Opisense gives you a few ways to do that.
Grid vs. list view
Toggle between grid view and list view at the top of the projects page. Grid view shows project cards with visual previews — great for scanning. List view is more compact and works well when you have a lot of projects.
Search
Use the search bar at the top of the projects page to filter by name or identifier. Results update as you type, so you'll usually find what you need in a few keystrokes.
You can also use the global search (press / or click the search icon in the sidebar) to jump to any project from anywhere in Opisense.
