Projects Troubleshooting
Solutions for common issues with creating, managing, and accessing projects in Opisense.
Running into a problem with projects? Here are fixes for the most common issues.
Can't create a new project
The "New Project" button is disabled or missing.
This usually means you don't have permission to create projects in your current workspace. Check with your workspace admin to make sure your role includes project creation privileges. If you're on a free plan, you may have hit the project limit.
The identifier is already taken.
Each project identifier must be unique within your workspace. Try a different abbreviation, or add a number to make it distinct (e.g., "MKT2" instead of "MKT").
Documents aren't showing up
You added a document but it's not visible in the project.
Give it a moment — document indexing can take a few seconds, especially for larger files. Try refreshing the page. If the document still doesn't appear, check that you added it to the correct project.
Uploaded file isn't searchable by the AI.
Some file types take longer to index than others. PDFs and text-based files are usually ready within seconds, while large spreadsheets or scanned documents may take a bit longer. If it's been more than a few minutes, try re-uploading the file.
Your AI assistant can only search documents that have finished indexing. If you just uploaded something, wait a minute before asking questions about it.
Access denied
You can see the project but can't edit anything.
Your role in this project may be view-only. Ask the project owner or your workspace admin to upgrade your access level.
You can't find a project you know exists.
The project may belong to a workspace or team you're not a member of. Ask a colleague to share the project with you, or request access from your workspace admin.
Activity feed is empty
The project exists but the Activity tab shows nothing.
This is normal for brand-new projects. Activity starts appearing as soon as someone creates a document, changes a setting, or takes any action within the project. If the project has been in use and you still see nothing, try refreshing the page.
