Managing Documents
Organize, search through, and delete your personal documents to keep your content library tidy.
As your document library grows, you'll want to keep it organized. Your Content gives you tools to find what you need quickly and keep things tidy.
Finding documents
Use the search bar at the top of your content list to find documents by title or content. Results update as you type, so you can usually find what you're looking for in a few keystrokes.
Search covers every content type — text documents, image canvases, brainstorms, and designs. For brainstorms, the search index includes both note text and AI-generated annotations, so any phrase you wrote on a note is findable globally.
You can also sort your document list by:
- Last modified — Most recently edited items appear first (default)
- Date created — See your content in the order you made it
- Title — Alphabetical order for quick scanning
The library shows mixed content types in one list — distinguish them by the icon and tint on each card.
Organizing your library
Keep your content library manageable with a few habits:
- Use clear titles — A good title saves you time when scanning your list later
- Archive old documents — Move documents you no longer need to the archive instead of deleting them, in case you want them later
- Review periodically — A quick cleanup every few weeks prevents your library from getting cluttered
Deleting documents
To delete a document, open it and click the Delete option in the document menu. You'll see a confirmation before anything is permanently removed.
Deleted documents can't be recovered. If you're unsure whether you'll need something again, archive it instead.
Sharing documents
When a document is ready to share, use the Share button to give team members access. You control who can view or edit each document, so you decide when something goes from personal draft to team resource.
