Creating and Browsing

Create a new Space, then move between its curated Home and the file Browse view.

Creating a Space

Open the create dialog

Click + New space in the sidebar's Content group, or the New space button on the /content hub.

Name it and describe it

Give the Space a name (e.g. Marketing, Product, Q3 Launch) and, optionally, a short description of what it's for. The description shows up on the Space's home page.

Choose visibility

Pick Org-visible so any member of your org can find and join it, or Private so only the people you add can see it.

Pick a default member role

New members join at the role you choose here — editor (can create and edit content) or viewer (read-only). You can always change an individual member's role later.

Create

Click Create space. You land on the new Space as its admin, ready to add content and members.

You're automatically the admin of any Space you create. The first thing you'll see is its home page — a generated default template you can customize.

Home and Browse

Every Space has two views, switched with the tabs at the top:

  • Home — the default landing view. A curated, Notion-style page with rich text and live widgets. See The home page.
  • Browse — the file explorer: folders and documents in a grid or list, exactly like Your Content.

The URL reflects which view you're in (?tab=browse), so the Browse view is deep-linkable and the browser back button returns you to Home.

Creating folders and documents

In the Browse view, use the New menu to add a folder or a document:

  • New documents open in the same rich text editor you use everywhere else, at /your-content/<docId> but scoped to the Space.
  • New folders enter inline rename right away, so you can name them without an extra step.

Content edits are permission-gated — only members with edit access (admins and editors) see the New button and the rename, move, and archive actions.

  • Folders — Click into a folder to drill down. A breadcrumb shows where you are, and the URL's ?folder= parameter keeps your place when you reload or share the link.
  • Grid or list — Toggle the layout to suit the content. Sorting a list column inside a Space is independent of your personal Your Content sort preference.
  • Quick search — Press ⌘K to search across the items loaded in the current Space.

Folder moves inside a Space stay inside the Space — they never touch your personal content. To move content between a Space and Your Content, see Moving content.
