The AI Personality settings control how your assistant and agents communicate. Set the overall tone, write custom system prompts, and add specific instructions that shape every response.
Access these settings from Settings > AI Configuration > Personality.
Configuration options
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Tone | Choose from professional, friendly, casual, or technical communication styles. This affects word choice, formality, and overall feel. |
| System prompt | Custom instructions that define how the AI behaves at a fundamental level. Up to 2,000 characters. |
| Additional instructions | Extra guidance layered on top of the system prompt for specific behaviors. Up to 1,000 characters. |
Writing effective system prompts
The system prompt is the most powerful personality lever. It tells the AI who it is, how it should behave, and what rules to follow. A few tips:
- Be specific — "Be concise and use bullet points" is better than "Be helpful"
- Set boundaries — "If you don't know the answer, say so" prevents hallucination
- Define the role — "You are a technical support specialist for a SaaS platform" gives the AI a clear identity
Changes to personality settings apply to your personal assistant. To configure personality for specific agents, use each agent's individual settings.
