Undo what the assistant changed
Roll back any edit the assistant made to your document.
Beginner · ~3 min · Prerequisites: a document with at least one assistant edit
What you'll do
Use the Undo agent edit control in the assistant panel to step back through the assistant's changes one at a time — or jump directly to a specific revision.
Steps
Find the "Undo agent edit" button
After the assistant edits your document, an Undo agent edit button appears in the panel header. If you don't see it, the assistant hasn't made any edits in this session yet.
Click to revert the most recent edit
Click Undo agent edit. The document immediately reverts the most recent assistant change. The button stays visible as long as there are earlier edits to undo.
Click again for the edit before that
Each click steps back one more assistant edit. The button disappears once there are no more revisions left to revert.
Jump to a specific revision
Click the small ▾ caret next to the button to open the revision history menu. It lists all recent assistant edits with short descriptions — for example, "Inserted content" or "Edited a section". Click any row to revert directly to that point, with no time or thread limit.
Undo agent edit only reverses changes the assistant made. Your own typing is unaffected — use the editor's standard Cmd+Z (or Ctrl+Z) to undo your own edits.
