Your first 10 minutes with the assistant
Open the assistant, send your first useful requests, and learn the three things that make it powerful.
Beginner · ~10 min · Prerequisites: None
What you'll do
Send your first few messages, see the assistant take a real action in your workspace, and learn where to go next.
The quick way: just ask
"What can you help me with?"
The assistant replies with a tour of what it can do right now, based on your workspace. There's no wrong first message — type naturally.
Steps
Open the assistant
Click Assistant in the sidebar. You land in a fresh conversation with a Recommended for you grid of capability cards.
Try a capability card
Click any card — for example Draft an email. Its example prompt drops into the composer with your cursor at the end. Nothing sends yet, so edit it first, then press Enter.
Ask a follow-up
Reply in the same thread — "make it shorter" or "add a line about timing". The assistant keeps the context of the conversation, so you don't re-explain anything.
Let it take an action
Ask for something concrete: "Add 'prep Q3 deck' to my calendar for Friday at 2pm." The assistant shows an approval card — review the details and click Approve. Actions that change your workspace always ask first.
The more specific your request, the better the result. "Summarize my unread inbox into 3 bullets" beats "check my email".
