Have your first voice conversation

Talk to your assistant out loud and hear it respond — like a phone call.

Beginner · ~5 min · Prerequisites: mic access

What you'll do

Start a voice conversation with your assistant, speak a question, and hear it respond out loud — then end the call cleanly.

Steps

Click the microphone button

In the chat input, click the microphone button. A full-screen overlay opens. Grant microphone permission if your browser asks.

Speak when you see the green waveform

The overlay shows the green Listening waveform — your audio levels ripple as you talk. Ask anything in a natural conversational tone, then stop speaking. No need to press anything; the assistant detects when you've finished.

Watch Thinking then Speaking

A blue pulsing orb appears while the assistant processes your request (Thinking). Seconds later, a purple waveform plays as it replies out loud (Speaking). You can start your next question as soon as the Speaking waveform fades.

End with the hang-up button or Escape

When you're done, click the red hang up button in the center of the screen, or press Escape. The overlay closes and your full conversation thread is still there in chat.

The conversation thread is shared between voice and text. You can switch from talking to typing mid-conversation — or vice versa — without losing context. See Voice conversations for full details on states and supported languages.
