Choose your voice & tune speech settings

Pick the voice your assistant speaks with and adjust speech recognition.

Intermediate · ~5 min · Prerequisites: None

What you'll do

Open the voice settings panel, preview the available voices, select the one you prefer, and set your speech recognition language — so every conversation sounds and understands exactly the way you want.

Open voice settings

Navigate to Assistant > Settings > Voice. The panel has two sections: voice selection and speech recognition language. Changes you make here apply to every future voice conversation.

Pick a voice

Five voices are available, each with a distinct character. Before committing, click Preview next to any voice to hear a short sample clip. Once you've found the right one, select it — the setting saves automatically.

The full voice table (styles and languages) is in the Voice conversations reference. There's no need to memorise it here; the preview button is the fastest way to choose.

Tune recognition

Open the Speech recognition language dropdown and select your language. Over 20 languages are supported. The selected language applies to both full voice mode and the in-composer dictation microphone, and it persists across sessions — you won't need to set it again.

If the assistant consistently mis-hears a specific word or accent, switching to the most specific regional variant of your language (for example, a country-specific English variant) often improves accuracy.

Save

Voice selection and recognition language are saved as soon as you change them — there's no separate Save button. You can return to this panel at any time to switch voices or languages.
